The Expanded Senior Slo-Pitch Association (ESSA), formerly known as Etobicoke 55+ Slo-Pitch League (ESPL), started in 1994.

The Association is an unincorporated non-profit organization. The League operates through a Board of Directors and a system of committees which organizes and conducts the day-to-day activities of the League.

ESSA operates a 7- 8 team league for men and women 55+.

The season begins mid May and runs until mid September.  Games are played on Monday & Wednesday mornings from 9:15 to 12 noon at Dunton Athletic fields in Mississauga (just north of the 401 on Kennedy Rd)

A key league objective is for all players to have fun and get exercise. There is a level of competitive play and to improve the player experience we strive to create a balance of skills across all teams during our team selection process.

For new players there is a Rookie Camp at the beginning of the season to assess their skills prior to our selections of the teams. This is followed by our Team Draft.

All team uniforms (sweaters), bats, balls, bases and game incidentals are supplied by the Association.
